CSIR Young Scientist Award

Dr Jagadeesan Loganathan


For his significant contributions, Dr Jagadeesan Loganathan, Scientist at CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO), (Regional Centre, Visakhapatnam) has been chosen by a peer-valued Advisory Committee for “CSIR Young Scientist Award” for the year 2020 in Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean & Planetary Sciences. The award will be presented to him on 26 September 2020 on CSIR Foundation Day.

Dr Loganathan joined CSIR on 21 September 2016 and his area of work is Zooplankton Taxonomy & Ecology, and Marine Biology. His research interests include Ecology & Ecosystem Functioning, Marine Biodiversity, and Aquaculture. 

In 1987, the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) introduced a scheme of Awards for Young Scientists in the CSIR system to promote excellence in various fields of science and technology known as the “CSIR Young Scientist Awards”.
